THE RED WINES OF THE CHÂTEAU
Château Carrosse Martillac enjoys an exceptional geographical location in Pessac-Léognan, appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC), recognized as the cradle of the Bordeaux vineyard due to its high standards and quality.
The estate is located in Martillac, one of the 10 communes over which the Pessac-Léognan appellation extends.
AN EXCEPTIONAL PESSAC-LÉOGNAN WINE
The fusion between the admirable terroir (link to the terroir page) of Pessac-Léognan and the know-how of the Miailhe family gives rise to the elegant red wines of Château Carrosse Martillac meeting the high standards of the appellation.
Château Carrosse Martillac is counselled by Serge Charritte, a renowned oenologist in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, notably for his years at Château Haut-Bailly, a Grand Cru Classé de Graves.
A CAREFUL ASSEMBLY
The 2018 vintage is balanced with a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that offers notes of black fruit, in the red wine "Château Carrosse Martillac", and a palette of red fruits in "L’équipage du Carrosse Martillac".
Since 2020, the Petit Verdot grape variety, rich in tannins, has subtly enhanced the structure of the Château's wines, giving it a unique identity.
To ensure the highest possible standard of red wines, the Château is equipped with state-of- the-art equipment which allows temperatures to be regulated and pre-fermentation cold maceration (MPR) to be utilized.
The wine of Château Carrosse Martillac is influenced by its malolactic fermentation (MLF), and its aging between 12 and 18 months in French oak barrels.
